Scenic Hills RV Park Review

Scenic Hills RV Park Camping

Everyone loves Ohio’s Amish Country, and if you’re camping, you want the perfect place to base camp while you explore this area. Matt and I have come here for years without the kids for a time of relaxation and rejuvenation, and our go-to RV park as a couple has been the beautiful Scenic Hills RV Park. How to Get to Scenic Hills RV Park and Checking-In

Every blog post I write that talks about pulling your RV in Amish Country starts the same; don’t take the scenic route!

When putting in the coordinates to get here, make sure you take state routes! I’m not even lying. If you get onto a skinny gravel county road, and you won’t have fun. You might say, “How would you know? ” Well, we did it once, and Matt and I did not talk to each other for the rest of the day.

“We would recommend you stay on State Routes coming here. County roads are beautiful but very stressful to navigate with a large RV or travel trailer.”

Scenic Hills is settled in the heart of the Amish community and it is just off the main route through the center of Holmes County, State Route 39.

Arrival here is simple and straight forward. The signs are clearly placed on the main entrance into the park. As you enter, you will pull right up to the office where you will check-in. PLEASE NOTE: they take cash and check only; you will not be using your bank or charge card here.

Check-in AND check out is at Noon.

This campground is a Good Sam location; if you don’t have one, you can sign up HERE.

Campsites and Set-up

Scenic Hills RV Park is a perfect destination for big rigs.

They have

  • 112 full hook-up sites
  • 9 supersites
  • 30 and 50 amp service
  • 40 pull-thru
  • Avg. site width – 35 ft

This park has the full-timers and the 40+ crowd in mind! I have always been impressed with how every site is large, graveled, and pretty level, considering the Holmes County terrain.

Getting to your site is extremely easy, and the roads are laid out amazingly well for a campground. Our site was #52, and it was situated on the top level of the campground. Getting in and set up was a breeze! We found that everything for the full hook-up site was placed strategically well and easily connected.

Site Amenities:

Fire ring, picnic table, and wi-fi

Amenities

Scenic Hills RV Park is a perfect destination for empty nesters and for those looking for peace and quiet.

This RV park is geared towards those without children, and the amenities here reflect that.

  • Dump station available
  • Fire rings and picnic tables
  • Laundry facilities
  • Sites available with a grassy area in between or extra-spacious sites with pebbled area to accommodate the largest units
  • Supersites with a cement pad and prime views of buggies passing by

This RV park is for self-contained units only because there is no shower house or bathrooms on the property.

My favorite things to do in Holmes County, Ohio.

Across the street is one of my favorite places to visit, Schrock’s Heritage Village! With PLENTY of stores, Tis’ The Season, and Old World Bakery and Bistro!

Hershberger’s Truck Patch

This is one place I ALWAYS make time for when we come to Amish Country! Best baked goods around.

Heini’s Cheese Chalet

They have been making cheese since the turn of the century, and it is fantastic. While you are here, you can watch them make the cheese and sample some of your favorites.

Keim

Keim Lumber is located in Charm, Ohio, and is the perfect place to find everything you need to make your house a home!

Housewares 77

This Amish shop is the real deal, and we love stopping in to get some housewares items we can’t find where we live. They have some simple living and unique things that are hard to find.

6346 Co Rd 77, Millersburg, OH 44654

Time and Optics and Birdstore

I’m a bird nerd and this shop on County Road 77 is one of my favorite stops!

My favorite places to eat:

Mrs. Yoder’s Kitchen

Boyd and Wurthmann’s YOU should definitely eat here while staying at Scenic Hills because it is just down the road. The food is soooo good, and the beaked goods are delectable!

Scenic Hills RV Park is the campground that is situated in the BEST spot to camp while you explore Amish Country! This is where we choose to come when we have NONE of the kids with us, and we are looking for a place to sit back and enjoy the quite.

If you’re looking for a place to sip coffee by the campfire, listen to the clip-clop of Amish buggies going by, and be in the heart of it all, this campground is for you!

Happy Camping,

Brandy
