I’ve heard it said that Amish Country and wine don’t mix but I beg to differ. Times have changed and wineries in Sugarcreek and Millersburg offer so much more than just wine. You can find a charming atmosphere, delicious food, curate delightful lodging, and imbibe in some local wines. So, enjoy an evening at one of the wineries in Ohio’s Amish County. Since everything closes around 5 PM you might enjoy having a glass of wine at one of the local wineries or take a bottle back to your lodging.

Silver Moon Winery
Silver Moon Winery was founded in 2004, after Ken and Judy Eschbacher were inspired to open their own winery when, after receiving a bottle of custom-labeled wine. They became fascinated by the wine making process. Ken and Judy did extensive research, learning about wine-making and the ins and outs of a winery, including all steps to make the wine itself, as well as bottling, and labeling. After a year learning all they could about the business, Ken and Judy made the leap and opened Silver Moon Winery.
This quaint winery is perfect for a stop for a wine tasting or to shop their store! You can pick from their line of sweet wines, a local favorite, or one of the crisp whites, or bold reds.

Breitenbach Winery
In 1980 Breitenbach Wine Cellars was built by winemaker and owner Duke Bixler. The name “Breitenbach” is German, meaning “bright or broad stream”, and is the name of the stream that runs through the winery grounds. Initial production at Breitenbach was 1,500 gallons of grape and fruit wine. After several expansions, Breitenbach now produces over 40 varieties of grape and fruit wines with an annual result of over 150,000 gallons. Over the years, Duke and his wife Cynthia, along with their daughters Anita and Jennifer, have kept the quality of Breitenbach alive.
This winery has been on my list to visit for a long time, and I suspect I will find myself there on our next visit. Offering beautiful views, live music, and a quaint atmosphere I think it will be the perfect place to have a glass of wine or grab a snack at the cafe!

Baltic Mill Winery
Located in a turn-of-the-century flour mill, the owners, Dan and Judy Garver have turned this into a delightful tasting room. We recently stopped here and bought a bottle of seasonal wine. It was so delicious that I went back for another bottle to take home! I think I love the atmosphere here as much as I love the wine because it is so off the main roads so you feel lost and time, allowing you to totally relax.

Sunny Slope Winery
Sunny Slope has been a part of the Holmes County Ohio community since 1927 and in the Bright family since 1978. Tom and Tara Bright are the current owners, and established the winery in 2016.
This wine stop is perfect for you to enjoy a snack and a glass of delicious wine. They offer a wide variety of delicious meats and cheeses from Walnut Creek’s Foods and you can grab a specially prepared sandwich and a wine slushy!

Ugly Bunny Winery
In the summer, the Ugly Bunny has Sippin’ Saturday nights with live music and great wine. If you’re looking for an evening activity, they have you covered!
We have a beautiful tasting room and patio overlooking our gorgeous property. We offer a wide variety of wines, cider and food! You can expect a welcoming and relaxing environment every time you visit the Ugly Bunny.
