Looking for some fun activities to do with kids in Geneva on the Lake? You’re in luck! There are plenty of family-friendly options in this charming Ohio town. Take a step back in time and plan to cruise the “the strip” in a golf cart or catch the sunset at the beach. No matter how you spend your family time in Geneva on the Lake, it will be epic. Let me share our family’s list of the best things to do with kids in Geneve on the Lake.

Tip: Do the Family Fun Trail while you are there, pick up your trail card, and find the seagull image, after the kids fill out their cards they get a FREE gift! Learn more here, Family Fun Trail

Lake Erie Canopy Tours

Abbie and I took a thrilling ziplining adventure at Lake Erie Canopy Tours, which was absolutely amazing! The feeling of soaring through the air at high speeds was exhilarating, and the views of the surrounding landscape and Lake Erie were breathtaking. The course had several different lines of varying lengths and heights, which provided a great mix of excitement and challenge. Admittedly, I was a little nervous on a few of them, but it felt like it went by way too fast once I got going.

Tip: Lake Erie Canopy Tours also rents golf carts for your family getaway adventure. These are a MUST for easy access to the strip parking!

Brandy says, “This was one of the best things to do with kids at Geneva on the Lake! We really bonded as we zipped through the trees.”

 Adventure Zone

If your family loves fast cars and bumper boats, head to Adventure Zone, located on the strip. Buy your tickets and plan your evening because there are so many things to do here that time will fly by. Race the kids in the go-karts, spray them with the bumper boats,  play a round of putt-putt, watch them climb the rock wall, and the little ones will love the merry-go-round. There are also batting cages and an arcade, you can spend the whole day here.

Open from May to October with variable hours. Check their website for the most accurate up to, date information. Official Adventure Zone Family Fun Center website

Madsen Donuts

Donuts! Everyone loves them. Madsen Donuts has been creating these delicious mouth-watering donuts since 1938. The longevity of the donut shop certainly is a testament to how fantastic these are. These mouth-watering delectable donuts were worth the road trip! I had heard about these and was thrilled to finally get to try them.

Tip: Wake up in the morning and get there when the sun comes up to be the early bird to get the best selection!

Pucker Up Candy Shop

Kids love candy shops, and when you push open the door to the Pucker Up Candy Shop, you are met with wall-to-wall candy and the sweet smells of the cotton candy they make in-house. Shop from the vintage-style candy, then grab some chocolate for later. You might feel a little guilty as you leave with how much sugar you are walking out with, but as you sit and savor later, you’ll be glad you did.

Geneva State Park and Marina

One excellent option is to spend the day at the Geneva State Park and Marina. Here, you can rent paddle boats, kayaks, and canoes to explore the beautiful lake. There’s also a beach area where you can swim and soak up the sun. One of my favorite things to do is look for beach glass, which I have not been extremely successful in doing, but one day I hope to find a handful.

Play Putt Putt at One of the Courses

If you rented a golf cart, hop on board and go putt putt for the day at the mini golf courses. Kids will love to have a chance to beat dad at one of the different places. There is one that stands out for play, Allison’s Mini Golf; it is the oldest mini golf course of continuous play in the state of Ohio! Make your own history by putting a ball!

 Eddie’s Grille

Don’t miss out on the iconically famous Eddie’s Grill. This classic diner has been a local favorite since 1950 and serves up delicious burgers, fries, and rootbeer. 50’s music is pumped through the speakers while you wait in line to place your order; I don’t think there is ever a minute when there is not a line in the summertime. Trust me; your kids will love the retro vibe and tasty food; I think Abbie had her hot dog eaten in 4 bites!

Family Friendly Lodging at Geneva on the Lake

For our family, we like to stay at The Lodge at Geneva on the Lake. In the summer, it is bustling with families swimming, biking, and exploring the state park, and in the winter, it becomes a place to bundle up and reconnect with one another at the indoor pool. Choose a room facing the lake for stunning sunsets or one of the cabins where you can spread out and play games at the dinette. Dining at the Lodge is a great way to catch lake views while enjoying breakfast.

Geneva on the Lake is a great place to visit with kids. There is something for every age group, from the beach and water activities to the amusement park and mini golf. Be sure to also check out the local restaurants and shops for a taste of the town. Whether you spend a day or a week, your family is sure to create lasting memories at Geneva on the Lake.

Tip: The best time to visit is from Memorial Day to Labor Day, book your trip in advance!

Happy Adventures!
