The Christmas season is one of my favorite times of the year! No matter when I go to Ohio’s Amish Country, I stop in at Tis’ the Season Christmas Store. If we go in July, it brings the Christmas spirit early, and when we stop by during the holidays we stock up on my unique ornaments for each one of our children. They win the Best Christmas Store in Ohio title from me.
Tis’ The Season Christmas Shoppe is Ohio’s largest year-round Christmas store, with 20,000 square feet! You will find yourself in a Christmas wonderland of happiness when you come.

Three Levels of Christmas in Ohio
The MAIN FLOOR:
The main floor is divided into various sections creating a Christmas village. As you come into the shoppe you are welcomed by a cozy fire in a delightful log cabin, where you can find primitive and rustic ornaments.
As you continue your way through you will find a vintage room with chic holiday treasures sprinkled throughout the space. Don’t worry if you don’t like vintage; the next stop is Williamsburg House. This room contains Byers Choice dolls along with old-world-style decorations.
This level is sprinkled with golds and silvers, with candy confections laid end to end. You’ll also see victorian Christmas items, glorious birds, and musical instruments in rooms along the walls.
Before exploring other floors, make sure to stop in the ornament and figurine personalizing room.
This area is one of my favorites! I have grandbabies, and I love getting ornaments made with whatever they are enjoying the most that year!
The LOFT:
There is nothing quite like climbing the stairs to the loft area as you step to the softly playing Christmas music beat. I always pause a moment at the top and lean out over the rail to take in the Christmas beauty. Your eyes can’t drink it all in at once because it is truly a Christmas sight to behold.
What will you find upstairs? Snowmen-filled, holiday-packed rooms, FULL off plates, teapots, mugs, and lines! There are all kinds of specialty stops around the upper rim of Tis the Season. Wild safari, tropical surprises, and cartoon-laden spaces greet you at every corner. Mickey Mouse and Disney favorites are hidden throughout the Christmas rooms.
A few more things you won’t want to miss upstairs are snow globes, special music boxes, and advent calendars for your family!
Christmas Trees Galore at the Best Christmas store in Ohio!
LOWER LEVEL (Known as the Forest of Trees):
I don’t think I have ever been to a place where there are so many artificial Christmas trees to buy! It truly is an indoor Christmas forest where you can get lost walking through. You will find trees from 2 feet to 12 feet, pre-lit to unlit, lush, full green trees to primitive Charlie Brown trees!
Do you need lights for your home? Here you will find more than 75 types and colors of lights for your decorating pleasure! I am not even joking; they have everything you could possibly imagine.
Downstairs also carries the handmade glass ornaments that are stunning on any Christmas tree! (I buy way too many when I come here!)
Visit the Bethlehem Inn and find the nativity you’ve been looking for.
Nativities are a Christmas staple, and they have so many to choose from. You can select stately and expensive to the smaller primitive style to grace your holiday mantle.
Angels Among Us!
The Alleluia Chapel is situated reverently in the middle of Tis the Season
Here you will find antique pews, stunning stained glass windows, and a multitude of angels welcoming you. You can almost hear the army of angels saying,” Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, goodwill toward men.” Luke 2:14 when you walk into the room.
Take your time here; they encourage you to stop and sit in the chapel, meander your way through the room to gaze on all the exquisite angels.
You don’t just find beautiful angels in this chapel; you will also find other religious items for sale, nativities, baby Jesus, and other gorgeous displays.
The Real Meaning of Christmas
You’re in Amish country, and whether you are religious or not, this stop in Ohio has a message for you. Jesus is the reason for the season.
You find Bible verses on signs along the road, in yards, and in almost every shop you go in.
Luke 2: 9-14
Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior—yes, the Messiah, the Lord—has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David! And you will recognize him by this sign: You will find a baby wrapped snugly in strips of cloth, lying in a manger.”
Suddenly, the angel was joined by a vast host of others-the armies of heaven—praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased.”
Religious or not, these things make one pause as they sightsee the area.
